Privacy Policy
Effective date:21st September, 2026
ENE Kitchen is operated by ENE Culinary LTD, a company registered in Nigeria. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website or order from us, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It's written to reflect the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA) and its implementing directives.
Who we are
ENE Kitchen (operated by ENE Culinary LTD) is a home-cooked food and fresh juice delivery business based in Lagos, Nigeria. For anything in this policy, you can reach us at:
What this policy covers
This covers information collected through ENE Kitchen's website (browsing, adding items to a cart, and filling in the checkout form). It does not cover what happens once your order reaches WhatsApp, that conversation is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy, since WhatsApp is operated by Meta, not by us.
Information we collect
When you browse the site: nothing that identifies you. Your cart (the items and quantities you've added) is stored only in your own browser, on your own device, so we can't see it and it never reaches us unless you complete checkout.
When you complete checkout, you give us:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your delivery address
- Your delivery area and date
- Any notes you add about your order
What we don't collect: we don't ask for or store payment card details, bank details, or any government ID on this site. Delivery cost and payment method are worked out with you directly on WhatsApp, not through the website.
How we use your information
We use what you give us at checkout for exactly one purpose: getting your order right and getting it to you. Specifically:
- Preparing your order correctly (what you ordered, any notes)
- Contacting you about delivery (confirming details, updates, delays)
- Getting your order delivered to the right person, at the right address
We don't use your information for marketing you haven't asked for, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
How your order reaches WhatsApp
When you confirm an order, the site opens WhatsApp with your order details pre-filled as a message, addressed to our business number. That message is sent from your own device, using your own WhatsApp account, this isn't something we do on your behalf, it's something the site helps you do.
Because WhatsApp is operated by Meta, a company based outside Nigeria, this means your order details are transferred outside the country the moment you send that message. The lawful basis for this transfer is your own choice and action: you choose to send it, using an app you've already installed and agreed to use, to complete a transaction you initiated. If you'd rather not do this, you're welcome to contact us through Instagram or email instead, and we'll take your order that way.
Who else sees your information
Delivery happens either through the business owner directly or a delivery rider we personally work with and trust. Whoever is delivering your order sees your name, phone number and address, that's the minimum needed to get your food to you. We don't share your information with anyone beyond this for any other purpose.
Cookies and local storage
This site doesn't use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics software. The only thing stored in your browser is your cart contents (which items and quantities you've added), kept only on your device so your cart doesn't disappear if you refresh the page. This is never sent to us or to any third party, and it contains no personal information, just item and quantity references.
If this changes in the future (for example, if we start using analytics to understand site traffic), this policy will be updated first, and where required, we'll ask for your consent.
How long we keep your information
We keep checkout details (name, phone, address, order details) for up to 12 months after your order, to handle any questions, complaints, or repeat-order convenience, unless we're required to keep records longer for tax or accounting purposes under Nigerian law. After that, it's deleted.
Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that's wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information
- Withdraw consent to future contact from us
To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp, Instagram or email and we'll respond and act on it without unreasonable delay. Email is the best option if you'd like a written record of your request.
Children
ENE Kitchen isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep the information you give us secure, and we only use it for the purposes described above. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely risk-free, but we don't hold more than we need, and we don't hold it longer than we need to.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll make that clear rather than burying it in a routine update.
